Research and Development helps partners design, test, and improve tools, training, and approaches. This work can be grounded in Charting the LifeCourse (CtLC) or customized to fit a partner’s goals, context, and audience. Some projects may contribute to the Charting the LifeCourse Library, a national library used by individuals, families, professionals, and systems across the country, while others are developed for a partner’s specific needs.
Who is this for?

This can include creating new materials, refining existing resources, or testing ideas through pilot efforts. Work is grounded in best practices such as adult learning principles, Universal Design for Learning, and inclusive design. Development can support resources for individuals, families, and professionals across a wide range of topics.
We study how tools and approaches are used and what makes them effective.
This can include understanding how something is working in practice, measuring alignment with intended approaches, and evaluating outcomes. We also help make sense of findings and share results in clear, useful ways to support learning, decision-making, and future planning.
Development partners work with us to create and refine tools, resources, and training. This work may support their own organization and contribute to the broader Charting the LifeCourse Library.
Research partners help build the evidence base for Charting the LifeCourse. This includes studying how CtLC is used, evaluating outcomes, and understanding impact across programs and systems.
